Another New Beginning: Wedding at Cana
We had to move this year. A change in my spouse's health required that we leave our country home and move into the city and an apartment. I miss my wonderful studio but plan to reconfigure our new residence and do smaller works. On the other hand, I have not yet ruled out the possibility of renting a nearby studio.
In the meantime my creative work has not stopped, but has continued through writing. Partially through my long time practice of journaling I have now made significant process toward the the formation of what seems to be shaping into a book. I am reflecting over my own life as it fits into something much larger--that is of the Eternal. I believe this is particularly critical in our time when Sacred Truths are diminishing as evil forces twist and deconstruct the Holy Story and turn humanity against itself.
This painting, "Wedding at Cana," tells of a new beginning wherein the Spirit of Life renewed humanity. It continues to this day. Scripture echoes with calls to turn back. The wine still flows. As I have reflected upon the stirrings of my life to paint and write I pray that those who look and listen will resonate with hope--that as fearful as all appears they can still discern for themselves a pathway of Wisdom. Along the way one finds the Courage to stand in Truth, undermining the Lie that threatens to destroy us.
May you be blessed and brave.
