Buried into this rich collage of imagery is a critique of traditional reading in Christian Scripture. Two disciples are speaking to one another in the right hand side. In the bottom of the collage a woman weeps over the dead body of Jesus. The uninformed might wonder why the women is embracing the man. Other elements in the work suggest the inappropriateness of men and women working/doing things together with the assumption it will end in sexual relations. So I have these two disciples implying that everything that happened was the fault of Jesus because he had opened his discipleship to women. Indeed, there are those who believe that one of his most dangerous moves was to bring women out of their socially defined roles and teach them Torah. The title refers to the father of King David. It was promised that the Mesiah would be one of his descendants.
